Kings Highway Fine cider is founded by Tyler Graham, who starting making cider in 2012 in a chest freezer in the basement of a Brooklyn brownstone. He entered his first competition a few years later at the 21st Annual Franklin County CiderDays, America’s oldest cider festival. Graham swept two categories and took home Best in Show for a cider co-fermented with guava. A few months later Graham beat out more than 500 entries at New York City’s Homebrew Alley to win Best in Show Runner-Up.
Thus Kings Highway Fine Cider was born. In 2017, the company cleaned up with a slew of professional awards at North America’s most prestigious competition, the Great Lakes International Cider and Perry Competition, bringing home 9 silver medals and 8 bronze medal — a higher total medal count than any other New York State cidery.
